Usha Bista .. update

I told y'all about a woman, Meagan McGrath, who rescued another woman, Usha Bista, on Mt Everest. I just read another report that says it was David Hahn who did the rescuing. Then another website attributes David Hahn and Mike Haugen.
Check out this report from the Hendricks Report.
There is also this report from mountaineverest.net.
Neither report says anything about Meagan. I was beginning to think that I had mis-read stuff. Then I found the audio recording of Meagan explaining what transpired.

What a perfect example of the eradication of women's experiences.

If I were to attribute Usha Bista's rescue to anyone it would be Meagan McGrath.

I noticed a link from this site coming over to mine and decided to take a look..

I need to make a couple of points to you.

First off, if you had read a couple of posts later, you would have realized that Meagan McGrath did recieve credit for this heroic rescue on Everest this season...at The Adventurist

Meagan was the first on the scene which lead to David Hahn and his team being alerted to Usha Bista.

Journalism from Mt. Everest is tricky to say the least. When this story first broke, Dave Hahn was the only one talking and he never mentioned Meagan..with my site, I post as the news breaks..so that was the first post. Later on, it was learned that Meagan was 90% of why this rescue was successful in the first place. Meagan was later honored by the Nepal Mountaineering Association for this rescue..but David Hahn never was..I also made a post about this on my site.

I guess to myself, perhaps without prior knowledge, it seems as if you were trying to rip my story by taking it out of context...or at least not seeing the final result.

I stand behind my reporting 100% and it in no way, shape, or form took away from Meagan and her heroic efforts. She deserves the credit, as does David Hahn and his team for stepping it up and helping.

David Hahn is world-reknown in the climbing industry--he has taken part in no less than 9 successful high-altitude rescues on Everest in the last few years and as such, you will see more about him in the media than Meagan just because of name merit alone. David has a very vast network of people he reports to and when David says something, they jump all over it.

I have the priviledge of being "independant", so to speak, in my reporting and have a little more freedom to dig a little deeper to get the real story without someone looking over my shoulders or offending a "sponsor" as a lot of other sites seem to have.

Thanks for your time, and I am hoping that I have cleared up a couple of things. If you would like to discuss this more, you may email me at theadventurist@cliffhanger.com, Thanks.
